About Alex Djukanovic, Msc

Alex has a deep admiration for nature and is driven to help you naturally. He sees health problems as a puzzle, which he loves to solve with the tools of Chinese medicine.

‍After studying biomolecular science (MSc), he was amazed at the detailed knowledge in science. At the same time, he noticed that this knowledge did not further deepen his understanding of life itself and the relationship between processes. Through Buddhism and his experience with martial arts, he discovered how powerful and practical Asian philosophies can be.

During that period, he himself was treated for hay fever, where regular medication did not work, but Acupuncture and Chinese herbs helped him get rid of this. This became the starting point for a new professional direction: acupuncture and a more philosophical and nature-oriented world view. Eventually, he found his place in Traditional Chinese Medicine, specializing in acupuncture and herbal therapy.

Getting to know this point of view felt like a refreshing, valuable addition. A holistic and conceptual approach to health is a real enrichment, even in modern healthcare. At the same time, acupuncture is not an abstract theory; it is rooted in centuries of experience, observation and clinical results.

Alex continues to learn more regularly through courses* and refresher courses. He also teaches Chinese herbal medicine and acupuncture for pain symptoms. In his own life, he practices Qi Gong, yoga and jiu jitsu. He lives with his family in Purmerend.

Nurture Your Nature

Nurture Your Nature (Yang Sheng) is about nurturing and nurturing life, maintaining health, and preventing illness. According to classical Chinese wisdom, the trick is to live in such a way that life energy is not wasted unnecessarily. An important way to do this is to live in harmony with nature and with your own nature. ‍

This requires insight into who you are, what suits you and where your talents lie. Acting accordingly, or sometimes not, creates a life that is more in line with your own nature. When that alignment is right, harmony and health follow naturally. This philosophy forms the basis of the Nurture Your Nature practice and is at the same time an ongoing endeavor.

Specializations

At Nurture Your Nature, we specialize in Dr. Tan and Dr. Tung's method. This means that we treat pain effectively, often with immediate results. And we also use Dr. Tan's balance method frequently. In addition to the fact that these methods are good for pain, they also give us a focused perspective on how to effectively remedy other complaints. ‍

Herbal therapy is based on the classical interpretation and application of herbal formulas. The Shang Han Lun (Book of the Cold Doctrine) is an important one for this. A characteristic feature of this way of working is comprehensive and sophisticated diagnostics. This ensures that herbal formulas remain compact, organized and effective.
