You want to live without pain

Specialist in pain relief using classical Chinese methods
For more than 10 years, we have been helping people effectively reduce their pain symptoms. Through years of experience and continuous deepening in classical acupuncture and herbal medicine, we achieve a noticeable improvement for most clients. Where necessary, we combine this with cupping of guasha, and strategically use herbal therapy fully tailored to your situation and needs.

More flow, less pain

We work to relieve pain, with no side effects

Every form of pain has to do with a blockage in the flow of energy or blood. Chinese medicine is particularly effective at remedying that, when you know the imbalance that causes it. Or in case of a known cause, which means that the problem will not resolve itself. What then maintains the imbalance? By specializing in treating pain and extensive experience, we are highly skilled at finding out exactly that!

Pain management, wide range of complaints

The most common complaints we deal with are:

  • Arthrosis
  • Injuries, pulled muscles or tendons
  • Hernia
  • Frozen shoulder
  • Heel spurs
  • Headaches
  • Knee pain
  • Neck pain
  • Neuropathic pain (neuropathy)
  • Back pain
  • Rheumatic pain

Pain sometimes includes other unpleasant sensations. In addition to pain itself, we also treat complaints such as a numbness, tingling, cramping and stiffness.

Your personal diagnosis

The diagnosis is based on the following components:

  • The location of the complaint (which meridians run through the affected area)
  • Type of pain
  • Complaints with a possible internal imbalance (e.g. headache or rheumatism)
  • Personal apposition and circumstances

In short, we take everything into consideration to help you in the best possible way.

Pain Syndrome (Bi)

Pain syndrome, or Bi in Chinese medicine, is a description of a pain complaint where there is more than just a circulatory disturbance that causes pain. At Bi, there are 2 additional factors: waste and cold. They both aggravate the pain and hamper the possibility of recovery. Because the area where you have pain is getting less and less well supplied with blood. The result is a chronic complaint that gets worse over time. In order to effectively resolve this pain syndrome, during treatment, we focus on:

  • Pain relief
  • Improving circulation
  • Disposal of waste
  • Warming up the body from within
  • Relaxation of body and mind

Relaxation indirectly helps relieve pain because recovery is easier with less tension. A Bi syndrome can be very similar to rheumatic complaints. Here is a list of symptoms that may indicate a pain syndrome:

  • Sore or stiff joints and muscles
  • Limited mobility
  • Feeling of heaviness or numbness in the limbs
  • Swelling
  • Alternating or moving pain
  • Improvement in heat
  • Aggravation in cold or humid weather
  • Dull, crazy, tingling or wadgy feeling in the hands and/or feet

There are other symptoms that would be appropriate and there are other variants of Bi syndromes, but these are the main signs. It is also good to know that we can help with chronic complaints, but also an acute situation or flare. If you want to know more, please contact us.

A few weeks ago, I ended up with Alex in a slight panic with a neck hernia and a lot of pain. I had 5 treatments and each time the pain was less and I was able to reduce the painkillers. My complaints are almost completely gone. I will definitely come back if necessary. In addition, he has a very nice, calming energy and you can also talk to him very well.

Alex is the best acupuncturist. He is so patient, listens carefully to your complaints and works professionally. I had unbearable pain in my wrist for 8 months and got an injection in the hospital, unfortunately it didn't help. After 1 treatment with Alex, the pain is gone, I really can't imagine not having pain right now. Really a miracle!! My thanks to Alex.

In November 2025, I ended up with Alex viavia due to a sore foot. I am very happy with Alex's approach. He takes the time for you, is really a sympathetic ear and has a sense of humor. My foot pain and some other ailments really improve every week. It's a shame you can't give more than 5 stars because Alex deserves more.

After just my first treatment, my left shoulder and eye problems had already declined significantly. Alex is a committed and highly skilled acupuncturist. He listens carefully and gives good advice.

FAQs

See below for frequently asked questions. Is your question not listed? Then contact us, we are happy to help you!

How does acupuncture work?

The treatment affects the body's nervous system, blood flow and relaxation response, triggering recovery processes.

What does acupuncture help with?

Acupuncture is often used for pain, stress, fatigue, digestive problems, hormonal complaints, allergies and sleep problems.

Can I combine Chinese herbs with medication?

In many cases, yes, but it is important that you always indicate which medication or supplements you are taking. This way, the treatment can be safely tailored to this. In case of doubt, consult your treating doctor.

Do I have to stop taking pain medication before treatment?

No, you don't have to. Use pain relief as is bearable and appropriate for you. If you manage to (temporarily) use less, that's fine, but this is not a requirement. When in doubt, always talk to your doctor before making any changes.
