Acne treatment

Acupuncture and Chinese herbs can be used effectively for acne and other skin complaints. By strengthening the body from within and regulating inflammation, redness and anxiety in the skin are reduced. In this case, the acne decreased after the first treatment and disappeared almost completely within three months.

This 26-year-old woman had been suffering from persistent acne since she was a teenager. After a long search, including several antibiotic treatments, she started a process of acupuncture and Chinese herbs in early July. The starting photo on the right was taken in early October.

Since then, there has been a clear and continuous improvement. Not only did the active acne decline sharply, the scars and redness left behind are also visibly recovering and gradually fading away.

The combination of acupuncture and herbs proved to be particularly effective for her. We started with herbs relatively quickly, because her body first had to strengthen to clean up the inflammatory processes from within. The acupuncture treatments were closely related to this:
needles in the arms, legs and abdomen brought the body into systemic balance, while fine needles in the face gave extra attention to the problem area.

The result was not long in coming. Even after the first treatment, there was a visible effect: the redness decreased and the skin became calmer. After more than ten years of complaints, the acne has now almost completely disappeared in three months.

I have also seen good results with other skin complaints, such as:

  • eczema
  • psoriasis
  • inflammations
  • itching
  • redness

Sometimes these complaints are stress-related, sometimes not — but we always look at the overall picture of the body, not just the skin.
