Wim Hof breathing

Wim Hof breathing is a powerful technique for reducing stress and influencing the nervous system, immune system and hormone system. In combination with meditation and cold training, this method helps to increase relaxation, focus and resilience.

Earlier, we talked about the 4-7-8 breathing technique written. Today we would like to tell you about Wim Hof breathing. Another tool to combat stress! The video below is a bit more extensive than that of the 4-7-8 breath. For deeper relaxation or as a change, it is ideal. What do you think of this exercise? Leave a comment in the comments.

The iceman

Wim Hof is also known as the iceman named for its cold records for swimming in icy water and spending time in ice baths. He has developed a method that allows the body to perform superbly. Want to know more? Then take a look at his website.

The method

The Wim Hof Method (WHM) is based on yoga, breathing, and cold exposure. Not only is it something that Wim Hof can do himself, but it is a technique that can be learned by following the course and applying techniques. What that means is that there are universal techniques that will make your body perform better, better even than “we” thought was possible. And when you use the breathing associated with the WHM, you can therefore directly influence and improve your health yourself.

Physiological effects

The performances that the people at the WHM deliver are certainly unique. And what is also very special is that the results have also been scientifically researched. And what does it turn out? This breathing and meditation have a positive effect on the autonomic (automatic) nervous system, the immune system and the endocrine (hormone) system. So there is also a scientific basis, with physiological — measurable — positive effects of meditation and breathing

Keep it cool

So controlling your health starts with breathing. In addition, it helps to improve and strengthen the balance between body and mind. This makes it an ideal way to combat stress! Watch the movie (10′) below:
